This chapel service held on September 4, 2009 in Darhan marks the start of the Christian Leadership Training Center. This program is designed to train individuals for leadership in the church. The training program will meet through the school year during evenings. It is designed to offer a certificate in Christian Studies which will build towards a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies.
Dr. Pieter Theron, our South African colleague, begins the service with Moogie, our translator. The direct translation of the wording in the background is Christ Believer Leadership Training Center. The logo was designed by Pieter’s and Haniki’s daughter and draws on the design of a ger door.
Dawaa, who serves as a pastor and is enrolled in the training program, reads from Matthew 28. (If you are interested in wrestling – ask Dawaa)
Introduction of many of the staff who help make the training center function from day-to-day. Haniki, Pieter’s wife, is in the middle.
You can’t have a celebration without food!
Cinda and I both turned out pretty good in this picture (where did the gray hair come from?) And it was cold, thus the three layers of shirts on Cinda!
Cinda, Narjaa (not sure about the spelling?) and Delgormaa. Delgormaa is the CAMA seamstress who made Annika’s dancing dress. Narjaa is the mother of our house helper and friend, Tuya, and she also works at the CLTC building. They are both on the leadership team and frequently teach in the church.

Looks like a very nice ceremony for the start of the Leadership center! Great picture of you and Cinda, Mark! How can it be fair that that gray hair (or at least partially gray hair) makes a man look distinguished?

Wow! Guys, this is really exciting to see. It looks like a great kick off to a program that will blossom in the coming years. I’m excited to see you guys part of a new project and one that looks so well put together and with such potential. The symbol is very cool! What food did they serve? I’m convinced you guys eat only sheep and horse so do tell. I also had to look long and hard at the red pkg. with the spoons on top. Looked like dorito’s:)
Mark, not sure if Greecian Formula will fit in the box I’m sending for Christmas. I’ll also have to look into if that’s ‘toxic’ and therefore can’t be shipped. More later.

What an wonderful blog entry to read. The Leadership Center opening…how exciting to be part of this ministry from the early years. The LOGO is amazing. With the pictures of your co-workers I can see faces that I have seen before in other pictures. Now for the portrait of both of you…well, outstanding. You both look terrific. Wow! Love to you all.

The CHOCO pies are the red package things. Its like eating a moon pie. Not really my favorite- I miss the Little Debbies but my waistline does not. The other food was meatballs and potato salad made by Haniki, always good when Haniki makes it 🙂
